College senior Shelby Yates is drawn into danger after encountering Matteo Franconi, an injured billionaire CEO with a criminal past. When she sees armed men and tries to contact the police, Matteo stops her from speaking, leaving Shelby to question who he really is and why his enemies are hunting him. Matteo claims Shelby’s intervention saved his life, but his response is far from ordinary: he becomes determined to have her marry him. Shelby must weigh his intense devotion against the violence surrounding him, while Matteo’s ruthless reputation makes trust nearly impossible. Their growing connection is shaped by suspicion, opposing wills and the threat created by Matteo’s enemies.
