Part 2: What happens in episodes 1 to 14
Tessa Lane has loved Jason Coleman for four years when she gives him her virginity. Midway he says her stepsister Kate's name and gaslights the slip; by morning she finds he sent a photo of her virgin blood on the sheets into his friends' chat. The replies spell it out: he used Tessa as a crash test so he would not risk hurting Kate on his first time. The PE rescue that made Tessa fall for him reads as the opening move of that plot.
She tries to act normal. Jason notices none of the tears and still expects yeses — until she refuses. Kate calls; he invents an emergency and leaves. At the senior goodbye party he kisses Kate in front of everyone. When hickeys on Tessa's back become the joke, she names Miles Palmer, Maple High's football captain, as the boy responsible and later calls him her boyfriend. Jason's card game puts another Kate kiss in her face; he refuses her kiss challenge; she drinks the humiliation cup and finds Miles hiding in the bathroom.
Miles will keep the lie if she dates him for real. Home is worse: stepmother Elena and father David have already absorbed Kate's version — an older man, street-walker marks — and the slap lands before Tessa can rewrite it. She almost gave up Harvard for Jason and Maple State; the acceptance letter and a late talk with Miss Wheeler put Boston back on the table. Jason still sells dust-in-Kate's-eye. Tessa is done. The free block ends with her walking away from the first-love wreck while Miles Palmer is the other boy who will not let her leave alone.
Part 3: Characters in the 14 free episodes
Tessa Lane. Girlfriend who believed the four-year romance; learns she was practice for Kate; first refusal, Miles cover story, Harvard track, and the decision to stop sacrificing for people who hate her.
Jason Coleman. Golden-boy boyfriend who shares the virgin-blood photo, prioritizes Kate's calls and kisses, still claims Tessa is the one when cornered — ambitious for Maple State optics, not a cartoon only.
Kate. Stepsister and ballet student; Jason's stated real target; gloats when Tessa's investment delivers him; feeds father a story that paints Tessa as the problem.
Miles Palmer. Maple High football captain. Dragged in by Tessa's lie; offers to make it real; kindness and self-interest share the same deal.
Elena. Stepmother who arrived with Kate; allies with David's shame narrative in the free arc.
David. Tessa's father; slap and 'street walker' framing after Kate's report; already emotionally gone in the stepmother flashback.
Miss Wheeler. School contact who backs Tessa's late Harvard admission and hints at another Boston-bound admit.
