In You Can’t Stop My Super X-Ray Vision, the richest kid in school is the one everybody treats as white trash. Michael Colson runs LVMX, a global luxury brand, sees through walls and bodies, and shows up at Maple Valley High in a plain grey blazer with one plan: surprise his long-distance girlfriend Kelly Jones and tell her the truth about who he is. Before he gets the chance, the most followed influencer on the planet has announced he is her new boyfriend, and Kelly has kissed someone else in front of him.

The series is a sci-fi high-school romance built on one joke told straight: everyone who humiliates Michael is doing it to a billionaire, and the only person who treats him well before the reveal is Ava Shaw, who has four hundred million followers and needs a boyfriend for the cameras. The first ten episodes set up the fake relationship, the cheating and the party; the rest of the series, as its own synopsis puts it, is Michael using his powers and confidence to bring down the arrogant influencer bullies while winning the heart of the most popular girl in school.

Part 1: The story of You Can’t Stop My Super X-Ray Vision, recapped

Episode 1 opens at Mercurious, the luxury store of Michael Colson’s LVMX, under attack. Michael handles it with his supervision, the x-ray sight he has had since childhood, and then does what he actually came for: he picks a gift for his girlfriend, because tomorrow is his first day at her school. He is eighteen, he is the CEO, and Kelly Jones, his long-distance girlfriend, has no idea.

The surprise goes wrong on the first morning. In episode 2, before Michael can find Kelly, Ava Shaw, the hottest and most popular influencer there is, announces to the school that he is her new boyfriend. In episode 3 he turns down her offer to be her fake boyfriend, then sees, with his x-ray vision, a spider crawling down her throat and sends her to the nurse’s office. He finally reaches Kelly, and catches her cheating.

Episode 4 makes it public. Mistaking Michael for a poor small-town boy, Kelly cheats on him with Barry Dawes, the star lacrosse player, and dumps him in front of everyone; across the campus, Ava’s life is saved at the nurse’s office. In episode 5 Ava finds Michael to thank him, and he tells her the one secret he has told no one at Maple Valley: he can see through things. In episode 6, fresh from the breakup, he agrees to be her trophy boyfriend, and she invites him to her welcome party.

The Welcome Ava house party is hosted by Barry, Kelly’s new boyfriend, and Michael arrives first while Ava is stuck on a call with her publicist, in episode 7. What follows is the series’ centerpiece. In episode 8 Ava’s plus-one is humiliated and bullied, accused of pretending to be her date, and security is called. In episode 9 Kelly calls him pathetic and psychotic and washes Ava’s purse in the toilet, sure it is a cheap knockoff. In episode 10 Michael is treated like white trash and human waste, Barry wants to throw him in the toilet, and Ava arrives in time to claim him, publicly, as her boyfriend.

Michael Colson

Eighteen years old, CEO of LVMX, owner of the Mercurious store, and the boy in the plain grey blazer everyone at Maple Valley takes for a nobody. He has x-ray vision, uses it to save Ava in episode 3, and reveals it to her in episode 5. Bookish and quiet by the origin’s description, he lets the school humiliate him for ten episodes before turning the tables.
