Part 2: What happens in episodes 1 to 14
Gwen Tyler is a figure-skating prodigy with a shot at Worlds. Childhood best friend Aaron Lansing films her practice and plans to say he loves her — the same night Vince Dolan asks her to be his girlfriend. Aaron overhears, packs to leave, and the fight ends with Gwen calling him not real family. He goes without a goodbye. She wakes: the sequence was a dream of that night, ten years buried.
In the present Gwen is a small-time reporter engaged to Vince and a shadow of the skater she was. Vince needs her at Michael Royce's investor party and casually names Aaron Lansing on the guest list — Cambridge Business School, youngest partner at a top firm. At the party Vince works the room and tops up her champagne; Aaron watches from the veranda, then cuts her off outside: "Are you lost?" The reunion stays polite on her side ("Mr. Lansing") while he asks about her mother's missing necklace, the hair change, and why she has not been on the ice in years.
Vince's friends tease him about still messaging Tatiana "Tati" Volkova — a precious star ice skater / gold-medalist type barely back in the States — and call Gwen bland by comparison; she walks into the end of that talk. Aaron brings her lavender tea; Vince gets jealous, then leaves her for a phone call with the other woman and a fake office emergency. In the rain he dumps the ride. Aaron finds Gwen, wraps her in a blanket, calls Vince an idiot for ranking work over the woman he is marrying, and — after she pushes back on his ten-year absence — says he has something to tell her. The free block ends there.
Part 3: Characters in the 14 free episodes
Gwen Tyler. Figure-skating prodigy with a Worlds shot in the past; ten years later a reporter stuck in Vince's engagement, off the ice, missing her mother's necklace. She said the cruel line that sent Aaron away — and still dreams that night.
Aaron Lansing. Childhood best friend taken in through the grandfathers' friendship; left after the proposal fight; returns as a young investment partner tied to Michael Royce. He watches, presses for truth, rescues her in the rain — and still has something unsaid.
Vince Dolan. Proposes in episode 1; fintech startup guy who needs Gwen at parties as optics, directs her hair, and keeps star skater Tatiana Volkova on the side. Not a cartoon villain — ambitious, insecure about Aaron, willing to leave Gwen in the rain for a "work emergency."
Tatiana "Tati" Volkova. Star ice skater / gold-medalist type messaging Vince while he is engaged; the phone voice that calls Gwen the "little American housewife."
Michael Royce. Wealthy investor / party host Vince needs to impress; Aaron moves in that circle as a prodigy of the room.
Gwen's mother / grandma thread. Mom died when Gwen was eight and left a good-luck necklace Aaron later notices is gone; grandma (or the household) once told teen Gwen to treat Aaron as family.
Part 4: Episode-by-episode guide to the 14 free
Below, what happens in each of the 14 free episodes, based on the English-audio transcription and watch-page blurbs. Central beats — proposal night, ten-year jump, party reunion, Volkova thread, rain cliffhanger — are flagged.
Episode 1
Gwen practices her Worlds program while Aaron films. They joke about the old deal: if both are still single at thirty, he is her backup husband. Aaron, in voice-over, decides tonight he will finally say he loves her. Before he can, Vince Dolan asks Gwen to be his girlfriend.
Episode 2
Vince sweet-talks Gwen, then suggests a darker brown hair color. She stalls — someone she needs to talk to first — and finds Aaron packing to sneak out. He overheard; the fight peaks when he attacks Vince for wanting to change her and she fires back that Aaron is "not even real family."
Episode 3
Inner monologues: both want to stay; neither names it. Aaron leaves without a goodbye; Gwen cries herself to sleep. She wakes — the past night was a dream. Ten years sit under the present.
Episode 4
Present day. Gwen is engaged to Vince and working reporter shifts. She said Aaron's name in her sleep; Vince needles her. He needs her at Michael Royce's investor party and drops that Aaron Lansing will be there.
Episode 5
Flashback to first meeting: teen Gwen finds stranger Aaron in the house; the grandfathers are old friends — think of him as family. Banter, a good-luck charm, and the necklace thread that will matter when it is gone.
Episode 6
Vince briefs Gwen on adult Aaron (Cambridge, youngest partner at a top firm) and guilt-trips her into the party for fiancée optics — hair done up. She goes to save for the wedding. At the party Vince works the room; Gwen stands aside; Aaron watches.
Episode 7
Aaron's assistant: Vince Dolan, fintech; Gwen is the fiancée he brings as decoration. Vince keeps topping up champagne until Gwen peels away. Outside, Aaron: "Are you lost?"
Episode 8
Reunion under civility. Aaron says there is no intrusion between them; Gwen thanks "Mr. Lansing." He flinches at the formality and stays instead of leaving.
Episode 9
Aaron asks if the fiancé makes her happy, notices the missing mother's necklace, and presses the hair change and the abandoned ice. Gwen: she has not skated in years. Aaron: "Gwen, it's me. You can tell me the truth."
Episode 10
Vince introduces Gwen to Michael Royce; Aaron steps away. Alone with friends, Vince is teased about still messaging Tatiana "Tati" Volkova — star ice skater / gold-medalist type — while engaged. They call Gwen bland. She walks up: "What are you guys talking about?"
Episode 11
Cover story: bland work talk. Gwen wants tea or to go home; Vince leaves to fetch a drink. Aaron arrives with lavender tea and honey. Vince returns and demands what the cup is.
Episode 12
Gwen claims a server brought the tea. Vince rants about Aaron as Michael Royce's prodigy and asks if they ever dated — she says no, more siblings. On the phone the other woman needles the "little American housewife"; Vince promises to come, then tells Gwen he has to go to the office.
Episode 13
Raining. Vince asks for a separate ride — work emergency, he will make it up — and drives off. Gwen is left without an umbrella. Aaron comes for her.
Episode 14
Aaron shelters Gwen and says work should not outrank the woman Vince is marrying. Gwen half-defends Vince and reminds Aaron he was gone ten years; she keeps the blanket anyway. He says he has something to tell her. End of the 14 free.
