Part 2: What you will watch in Sold to the Warlord Born for the Sky

Skybound, the North, was once the land of dragon callers and has not called a dragon in a hundred years; without them, the kingdom loses every war. King Halgar hands his daughter Cassia, raised far from any danger, to Ravek, the warlord who rides dragons at the head of the Blackclaw horde.

Cassia arrives as property, with an iron cuff on her wrist and the Blackclaw iron necklace at her throat, and is put through the Proving: standing before Ravek’s dragon while everyone waits to see whether it bows or bites. It bows, and she becomes queen.

The rest is the queen learning her own size. Her ex-fiancé, Lothar, attacks her and is punished by Ravek before the kingdom; Ravek walks through dragonfire to seal the binding; Drusilla, his lover, provokes Cassia and loses every time. When Cassia catches the two together, she claims her husband in front of the rival, and Ravek starts teaching her to call dragons. The final stretch is the war with the Frostkin clan: Borin kidnaps the queen, Ravek goes to get her, and Cassia awakens as the strongest dragon caller.
