Part 2: What happens in episodes 1 to 14

People say Nick Gallo owns Vegas. Episode 1 shows why: a bloodied captive, a knife, dog tags, and brothers who call him a super soldier. Cut to Sarah Carter at an outdoor food stand already stained and shaken. Episode 2 goes back to the mission that made them brothers — gunfire, a field hospital, Jake's ruined future, and the drink that seals it: they will show up for Jake 'no matter what happens,' without being asked.

Episodes 3 to 5 stay with the Carter household as loan-shark pressure turns domestic. Callie is accused and cries 'I didn't steal!' Sarah begs on the phone. Jake, broken in bed, tries to stop his daughter: 'Callie, wait.' By the end of episode 5 the family is at the edge and Callie's path to Uncle Nick is unlocked.

Episodes 6 to 8 bring the Sortino crew through the door. A goon mocks Jake's absence and disability, fingers family photos, grabs Callie as a 'little brat,' and sets a money-by-tomorrow deadline that includes the food stand. Sexual coercion is aimed at Sarah. Richie Sortino's claim is blunt: the family owns the neighborhood, and he wants Sarah — not just the cash — with a return on the 27th while the stand is smashed. Parallel cut: Nick's brothers still bet Jake will walk into a senior-VP offer they will not let him refuse. They do not know yet.

Episodes 9 and 10 are the hinge. Callie finds Uncle Nick's number on the back of a wartime photo and dials. Nick hears a 'little girly' voice and smells a scam until she says daddy had cancer, took his gun, and 'My dad's name was Jake Carter.' Episodes 11 to 14: the brothers reunite — forever and always — and choose to mourn later so they can save Jake's little girl. Richie Sortino tells Sarah she is nothing unless she becomes his side piece, takes Callie to his 'office,' and forces the child toward 'call me daddy' while Nick and the others hunt the East Las Vegas stand. Nick arrives late and sorry. Sortino's men ask if he can take them alone. The free block ends on 'Who says he's by himself?' as the brotherhood steps into a fight that is not finished.

Part 3: Characters in the 14 free episodes

Nick Gallo. Hard-bitten veteran the underworld already fears; 'super soldier' to his brothers; Uncle Nick on the photo Callie finds; leads the late rescue that opens the ep-14 cliff.

Jake Carter. Wartime brother who took the hit so the others could walk away. Bedridden and desperate through ep 5. Callie's past-tense account in ep 10 — cancer, then the gun — is what reaches Nick; the brothers mourn in ep 11. The free arc does not stage a funeral; it stages a phone call.

Sarah Carter. Jake's wife. Works the East Las Vegas food stand, fields harassing calls, then faces in-person Sortino pressure and a sexual debt frame when Richie says he wants her, not just money.

Callie Carter. Jake and Sarah's young daughter. Accused at home in ep 3, present for every phone plea, the child who dials Uncle Nick, and the leverage Richie Sortino takes — she refuses 'call me daddy.'

Jamal and Tony. Nick's other brothers-in-arms. Share the field-hospital oath; in ep 8 still plan a VP job for Jake; by ep 14 they answer the 'by himself?' question.

Richie Sortino. Local mob face — 'Richie Sortino is the law.' Owns the neighborhood claim, returns on the 27th, takes Callie, offers Sarah the side-piece lane, and is mid-brawl when the free arc stops.
