Altarboy spoilers: the confessional, the overheard confession and the ending
Spoilers for Altarboy: Theo confesses his attraction to Father Alexander inside the confessional, and two episodes later overhears the priest confessing desires of his own. Alexander rejects him, Theo keeps pushing, they kiss, and in the end the priest declares himself in church in front of Theo’s father and leaves the priesthood. All 63 episodes free.

Part 1: The story of Altarboy with spoilers
The setup is not a spoiler: Theo Martin, eighteen, is dumped at Sacred Heart by his father to be “cured” of being gay, is attacked in an alley and is saved by Father Alexander, the new head priest, who then makes him his altar boy to please Theo’s father. The spoilers start in the confessional.
First spoiler: the priest is not what he pretends to be, and Theo figures it out early. In episode 5, Theo overhears a nun’s confession and comes out convinced that Father Alexander is gay. He tests it the only way he can: in episode 6, forced to confess, he tells Alexander everything about his attraction to him, and in episode 7 he describes exactly what he wants the priest to do to him at the altar.
Second spoiler: Alexander punishes him for it, and then proves him right. In episode 8, when the punishment is done, Theo ends up at the priest’s room and overhears Alexander confessing his own feral needs. In episode 9, Theo throws it back at him: he represses what he wants and pretends to be better than everyone else.
Third spoiler: the rejection does not hold. Alexander pushes Theo away; Theo answers with seduction and games; they kiss. And the last spoiler is the ending: Father Alexander declares his feelings for Theo inside the church, in front of Theo’s father, gives up the priesthood, and the two leave their old lives behind together. Theo never reconciles with his father.

Theo Martin
Hides nothing, which is his weapon. Declan Clifford plays the boy who says in a confessional what the priest cannot say anywhere, and who, at the end, chooses the priest over the family that rejected him.
Father Alexander
Hides the same thing Theo confesses, and loses the secret in episode 8, through a door. Cayman Cardiff plays the priest who punishes desire in others until he admits his own, first to an empty room and finally to a full church.
Matthew Martin
Hides behind the parish council. Michael Heymann plays the father who dumps his son at the church and ends up watching the priest he sponsored declare his love for that son.

In episode 9, Theo calls the priest out for repressing his desires. Things get heated, and the story stops pretending the attraction is one-sided.
